اعتراض پروفسور براهنی به نقشه بی بی سی در رابطه با گروههای قومی ایران

- تمامی آذربایجان غربی بعنوان سرزمین مردم کرد قلمداد شده است
- ارتباط آذربایجان شرقی با دریای خزر قطع شده است، در حالیکه مردم آستارا تا صد ها مایل به طرف جنوب آن شهر آذربایجانی زبان اند
- طبق آمار جمهوری اسلامی ایران بیش از نصف جمعیت تهران مردمی هستند که به زبان آذربایجانی سخن می گویند.

فکر می کنم در نقشه تقسیمات کشوری تان در رابطه با ایران و گروههای قومی ایران اشتباهات جدی مرتکب شده اید و به این وسیله راه را برای هرنوع سوء تفاهم باز گذاشته اید، در حالیکه بی بی سی می توانست به آسانی و با مراجعه به " اتنو لوگ دات کام " از این اشتباه اجتناب کند. در این نقشه تمامی آذربایجان غربی بعنوان سرزمین مردم کرد قلمداد شده است و ارتباط آذربایجان شرقی با دریای خزر قطع شده است، در حالیکه مردم آستارا تا صد ها مایل به طرف جنوب آن شهر آذربایجانی زبان اند و طبق آمار جمهوری اسلامی ایران بیش از نصف جمعیت تهران مردمی هستند که به زبان آذربایجانی سخن می گویند. در مورد کل متکلمین به زبان آذربایجانی در ایران شما باز می توانید به " اتنو لوگ دات کام " مراجعه کنید.

هرگونه تغییری در این واقعیت و دیگر واقعیت ها بوسیله بی بی سی تماما غیر مسئولانه است و بایستی هرچه زودتر تصحیح گردد. این اشتباه و اشتباهات مشابه دیگر می تواند تاثیر نادرستی بر روی گروههای قومی مربوط داشته باشد، در حالیکه با مراجعه به منابع درست همچون دیگر موارد می توان از آن اجتناب کرد. زیرا در آینده ممکن است آنها به جای مراجعه به متن های تحقیقی موجود، به بی بی سی مراجعه کنند و این اشتباهات ممکن است هر نوع دشمنی قومی در منطقه و بویژه ایران را دامن زند.

بی بی سی در موارد بسیاری در رابطه با سیاست، ادبیات، زبان های ایرانی در برنامه های فارسی و انگلیسی خود با من مصاحبه کرده است. من یکی از منابعی بوده ام که در کتاب بی بی سی درباره انقلاب ایران از او نام برده شده است.

بی بی سی باید سریعا در تصحیح اشتباهاتی که در فوق اشاره شد عمل کند. خیلی خوشحال خواهم شد تا در این مورد با هر مقامی در بی بی سی بحث و گفتگو کنم. همچنین باید خاطر نشان کنم که من یکی از فعالین حقوق برابر برای گروههای قومی ایران بوده ام و نیز یکی از فعالین در زمینه حفظ مرزهای کشورها به همان صورتی که هم اکنون این مرزها هستند.

من مخالف جنگ میان گروههای قومی داخل ایران و مخالف جنگ با همسایگان کشورمان هستم.

می خواهم در این مورد سریعا جوابگو باشید و همچنین سریعا اطلاعات نادرستی را که در سایت شما منعکس شده است تصحیح کنید.

Complaint of Professor Reza Baraheni to BBC's map of provincial divisions for Iran

- The entire Western Azerbaijan has been called the land of the Kurdish people
- The Eastern Azerbaijan has been cut of from the Caspian Sea, while the people of Astara to hundreds of miles to the south of that city are Azari - speaking people,
- According to the statistics given by the Islamic Republic of Iran, more than half the populations of Tehran are Azari- speaking people

I think that on the ethnic groups of Iran in your map of provincial divisions for Iran you have made serious mistakes, BBC could have easily avoided by going to Ethnologue.com.

The entire Western Azerbaijan has been called the land of the Kurdish people. The Eastern Azerbaijan has been cut of from the Caspian Sea, while the people of Astara to hundreds of miles to the south of that city are Azari - speaking people, and according to the statistics given by the Islamic Republic of Iran, more than half the populations of Tehran are Azari- speaking people. Any change in these and other facts by the BBC is totally irresponsible, and should be corrected as soon as possible. These and similar mistakes, which can be documented in many other cases by referring to the right sources, will give a wrong impression to the ethnic groups concerned, because they might in future refer to the BBC rather than going to scholarly texts available, and these mistakes might create all kinds of ethnic hostilities in the area, particularly inside Iran.

I have been interviewed many times by the BBC on its Persian and English programs dealing with the politics, literature and the languages of Iran and other places. I have been one of the sources mentioned in the BBC’s book on the Iranian revolution.

The BBC should take immediate action to make the above suggested corrections. I will be more than happy to discuss this with anyone on your staff. Although I have been an advocate for equality for all ethnic groups of Iran, I have also been an advocate for the countries borders to stay as they are. We cannot afford an internal battle among the ethnic groups in Iran, as well as a battle outside our borders with our neighbors. Immediate responses, as well as immediate action to correct the wrong information on the site are required.
